This year, UJS is launching its Womens Campaign. The Campaign aims to empower women to aspire to leadership roles within and outside the community, in particular within campaigns, educate Jewish students about women’s issues, and engage in national campaigns to promote women’s rights.
This year’s focus campaign for UJS Women’s will be against violence against women. UJS will be campaigning to raise awareness about domestic violence, and working closely with Jewish Women’s Aid. Furthermore, UJS Women’s Campaign intend to draw awareness to the use of rape as a weapon of war as has been the case in the Rwandan Genocide, the Congo and currently in Darfur.
International Day against Violence Against Women is on the 25th November.
